Spiral Galaxy
Exposure: L = 180 min 1x1, RGB 60 min each
Date: Dec 7. 2010 & Jan 23. 2011.
Comments: The large elliptical galaxy in the center is IC 342 (mag = 8.4). The profusion of stars in the foreground are inside our own Milky Way galaxy and almost obscure this beautiful spiral from our view. It is therefore sometimes called the "Hidden Galaxy". The small galaxy that lies almost on the right edge of this frame at about the 4 o'clock position is PC 13693 (mag. 15.1).
